Desperation

by kah-yoong

DorkI was surfing in lowyat.net LYN (as always) and came across some hilarious threads. I’ve already posted a guy joke in the Friendster message board and this one in particular is from cupid’s corner (a relationship sub forum)

This thread in particular just shows how desperate people can get. Further more if their world is just confined to LYN. The link to the page is HERE. But knowing that LYN forums has an auto purge feature (deleting non active threads) that clears out 10day old threads, I’ve taken the courtesy to cut and paste the content of the thread here. Names of members have not been changed. (It’s a nickname so there’s already anonymity)

what the exact meaning……..

c3ksam
stop posting crap pls……..

CupidCupid
^ i guess YOU the one started first …
wat’s the main point / reason starting or creating this thread ???

c3ksam
okay…… enough of this, i am gone.

<===== thread ends =====>

Hmm…. It don’t sounds that funny after duplicating it in here. Maybe it’s the missing emoticons. I’m not sure to laugh at c3ksam’s noob-ness or pitty him getting flamed by senior member Rusty Nail and CupidCupid. One thing’s for sure, the internet is not a safe place for noobs. Unless of course, you are not bothered with e-reputation. Then it’s a win - win situation.

Threads like this is not uncommon in LYN. There’s already 37,700 registered members, and the numbers are growing by the day. I guess the term an idiot is born every minute is quite true. If time’s not a factor, Cupid Corner has lots of very dumb, stupid topics that might tickle your funny bone.

2AM

by kah-yoong

It was only 2 days ago that I resumed back to my normal bed time of 11-12pm. Before I can continue to my normal sleeping habit again, I’ve got to burn midnight oil (again). This time it’s over an environmental audit report that I presented a few weeks back. The beauty of this thing is, it’s supposed to be a group work. With most of the group members disorientated, all thanks to my lack of leadership, I ended up doing most of the bulk. I’m not at all hogging all the credit. I owe lots of thanks to my team members who so dedicatedly helped surveyed a total of 140 respondents and also helped me with some tedious eco-mapping. It happens that some miscommunication left us with a dual lingo report which the entire report edited and rewritten by me. I’m not sure weather to rant on this issue or to thank them for giving me more practice I need for my thesis writing. One thing I know for sure is that I’m talking rubbish in the wee hours or morning.

BITE ME!!!

by kah-yoong

BitemeDon’t tell me what to do,
Don’t tell me what to be,
If you are not happy with who I am,
Go ahead, “BITE ME!!!”

Those are the words inscribed on the little card of this adorable teddy bear. Initially I wanted to give it as a gift and with the message “I am who I am” But knowing that I won’t be seeing the bear again and that I had to fork out RM20 for it, I changed my mind. Instead, he’s my mascot. A bear with an attitude!

I had always wanted this bear since the first time I saw it. But I didn’t buy because I’m not sure if my military accessories would fit onto it. So last Sunday after shopping for my hard drive, I went to Memory Lane to check out on this bear. I also brought along a 1/6 scaled SDU tactical vest to test on the bear. It fits! And I bought it.

Sewing the MP5 PDW onto the paws wasn’t a big task since sewing is like second nature to me. All thanks to my 1/6 scale military action figure collection and customizing hobby. I’ve even brought it for a car ride yesterday but later found out that it swing too violently due to its mass. In the end, it has to stay at home. Coming to think of it, I haven’t name my bear yet. Tuesday blabber

by kah-yoong

This would be the third nonsense post in my blog. Maybe I should
just create a sub category titled NBTD (nothing better to do) or NBTB (nothing
better to blog) if I do so, that means I would have to re categorize all the
other post since May 2005. Well, maybe if I have the time to kill I’d do so. Now
I’m just lazy and want nothing more than to bump my blog.

YAY, PMR’s over

Why am I so happy? Well, for starters, I get to spend more
time with my brother and do all those bone-headed stuff like we used to or
going to do. First off it’s definitely visiting the Cyber café. Just went there
with his friends and owned them all in CS, LOL man! It’s a HUGE handicap playing
against someone 8 years their senior, nevertheless, they put up a good fight. In a
game of DOTA, it’s a different story all together. Every time they took a piece
of me, there’s always a victory dance on the monitor. Don’t you just love the
taunts.

House of the Dead, CZ style

We all know that Condition Zero (CZ) has bots support. And
we also know that there’s a nifty knife only mode so we can take pot shots of
helpless knife welding bots. If you want the thrills, try this.

Here are the rules to the game

I C U
Be afraid. Be very afraid. No surface structure is safe from
preying eyes. All thanks to Google Earth (GE), you can now receive satellite images
at your finger tips. Like the picture below, it’s my house. GE been around for
a long time but it’s only tonight that I finally have enough broadness to try
it out. (Hmmm, never knew that broadness is measurable.)

Saturday Blaber

Unwanted responsibilities
I should’ve called in sick yesterday so I can skip GNEK1029 (web authoring). It’s not that the class is hard, it’s superbly easy (coding HTML with notepad). The facilitator choose me to chair for KK day committee. Just because I can code HTML it makes me a natural leader??? I don’t see the logic in that. Plus, the whole class is NOT co-operating. I’ve asked, persuaded and begged but only 3 heads joint as my top managers. The other members? hiding behind their monitors. I really have to thank Kean Boon for being my assistant. Without him, I’m not sure if I can handle the whole thing. Actually I can. I’m more comfortable working alone than with other people. I’m more like a lone wolf than  hyena which hunts in packs. But that’s not the point. the facilitator WANTS EVERYBODY to have a hand in the KK day exhibition. So, with the aid of Kean Boon, I manage to form 4 task force (decorations, camera/photography, computers and technical) to operate the exhibition booth during KK day. Good thing is, they know what they are suppose to do. Bad news, I got to make sure it happens and it’s going to be my head if it fails. With a supervisor pressuring for my literature review and an audit report to be handed in next week, I’ll be lucky if my hairs remain intact till the end of the week.

More problems
My windows is choking again. With a mere 600mb of space left, it’s only moments before it ask to free up more space. Never knew that windows can hog up to 5gb of space. Since I’ve got gigabytes of downloads, anime, music, pictures, homeworks, projects, work, mails and drivers, I’ve decided to buy myself a new hard drive and use the old one as archive. I’m planning to get one soon by tomorrow. Still not decided which brand to get though.

Dry tap
As I was typing this post, my water supply has been cut. Water works thinks that no one uses water on saturday night and decided to cut off supply to over thousands of residents who’s at home resting after a hectic week day. My maid have to skip laundry. Pile the dishes for tomorrow (if the water returns) to save enough water for shower (actually we were rationed to 2 bucket of water per person) and reserve some for flushing. Ironically there’s a post in LYN titled "no electricity or no water?, which 1 will u choose?"
I LOLed at that topic and voted electricity without even thinking further. Looks like I have to eat my words.
