Savylicious
Gah… When I had nothing to blog, I don’t post for a few days. And where’s something to blog about, lots of stuff starts running into my head. Since all of them are not interrelated, I’ll give separate post for them. Furthermore, I need to sleep early tonight because tomorrow is a big day (KK Day). Here’s one of many that I’d like to share with the world.
The wait is finally over (10 long days). I told no one about the car other then Marcus and Weang Kean since I’m already a well known Proton basher. Wouldn’t want the world to know I’m a hypocrite, YET. As the title above, My mom has bought a Proton Savy!!!
Yeah, yeah, enough with the WTF already. Couldn’t believe uh? That a person that cusses that car so much finally gave the green light to his mother to buy the car. Truthfully speaking, this car still looks like sh*t. Hey, even the Kenari looks like sh*it when it’s first launched. Now it’s a widely accepted design. So will this car.
In the name of Need
I’ve short listed the reasons why we decided to get this car.
- 2 cars is not enough, my mom needs one (although it’s registered to my sister)
- We are on a tight budget. The cheaper the better
- No down payment!!!
- Little interest (without down payment, we need to fork out an
additional RM30 monthly. Since it’s 7 years and the Ringgit depreciates
like a rock, it’s no major impact when the car is paid in full) reason:
inflation. After 7 years RM30 is like penuts. - Stock in hand. No waitting (7-14 days paper work)
- Handles like a DREAM (red more to find out)
The Sh*tty Became The Savy
Seriously speaking, how can something so ugly performs like a Waja? I don’t know the answer to that but I bet that the guys at Proton does. I was very skeptical about this car even before it was launched. Most probably because of it’s code name, TRM (Tiara Replacement Model). After reading the review from Cars.my I was still skeptical. Like, when can you ever trust car reviewers especially when they are reviewing the car that’s heavily advertised in their magazine?
So, I decided to test drive the Savy in order to prove the magazine wrong. Boy, was I in for a big surprise. It’s exactly like the street modified Waja during the first Proton road show I went in Sepang circuit a few years back. It hug the road like inseparable lovers. What I like best about the car is the suspensions that makes the surface of the moon like a walk in the park. You can remove the word “bumpy” from your dictionary when you are driving this car. I need to remind you that this is a RM40k car. That’s just how good it is. Mind you that my mom was at the rear passenger seat during my test drive and she did give her input how well the car absorb punishment from potholes.
That’s just the first part of the review. I’m looking forward to a weekend joyride on the PLUS highway this Sunday.
