sunday stress
Warning, rant ahead!!
Guess i’ll just never learn. it’s the same time of the year, doing the very same thing, rushing a deadline. by Tuesday I’ve to hand in a report equivalent to a thesis standard. Mind you that in order to achieve such quality, many revisions has to be submitted in order to get it right. For my case, right now, whos has a sadistic lecturer who treats her students as RA to do her dirty work, I’ve only 2 weeks to prepare a final copy since I just got the parameters and readings (refer to picture) 2 short weeks ago. All this just for three lousy credits. Though I had to sweat blood for many other subjects for the same amount of credits, at least I enjoy it and has a scene of achievement. While this??? The only thing I’ve achieved in this subject is, mutiny don’t work in the university. Not in UM at least. Guess my only way to vent all frustration is through her evaluation form. MUAHAHAHAahahaha!!!!!

Very Hot: Navy Seal Jumper
A long long time ago, there was this company called Very Hot which produces 1/6 action figures.
At first i was happy, but then was turn off by it’s inferior quality when it reproduces Hot Toys famous SDU. This is their third attempt on the 1/6 industry and this time they looks promising, plus i was getting deperate for the LAW.
Product review:
Ironic isn’t it, for someone who was so anti VH (Very Hot), the Hot
Toys clone to be buying a VH Navy Seal Night Ops Jumper. But of course,
my actions are justifiable in the sence i’m a kitbasher reborn and that
i cannot wait for Hot Toys to release their weapon set which it release
date never announced.

crapy looking box, still it does the job of keeping it’s content from spilling out.
overview
VH latest product is a figure-less Navy Seal Night Ops Jumper which
means that the nude body is not included. at RM240 (from ultimate toys)
for this thing, i wouldn’t call it cheap although it’s atleast RM50
cheaper from Hot Toys and RM80 cheaper from Toy Soilder which is famous
for figure-less uniform sets.

no figure, parts and uniform only. comes with a picture cum poster.
quality
It’s a no brainer that VH products are VERY MUCH inferior to big
players like Hot Toys and Toy Soilder. The puny clip buckle on the
helmet are nothing more but stubs. and those stubs broke on the very
first day i put it on my figure. though i do have replacement clips
buckle to replace those stubs, it’s the people who don’t and those who
are still very new to this kit bashing to stay away from VH products at
the moment. because to replace every single stub is not cheap.
This set comes with M4A1 carbine and a LAW. the weapons are not
weathered. Not that i’m bothered since i like my weapons unweathered
and clean looking. I’ve always wanted a LAW to complete a bash of mine
which has been WIP for almost 2 years. As for the carbine though, i’ve
scavange its parts to beef up a SAW.

LAW, the MAIN reason for my purchase
however, all is not lost. VH did a surprisingly well GOOD on the
body armor and uniform which is bbi/master craft like in quality. the
only difference is the velcro used by VH doesn’t seems to be sticy
enough and keep pelling off. guess i’ll need to replace that too. but
overall sewing of the vest is clean and no loose threads (which dragon
is famous of).
Now, not many manufacturers out there can make quality uniform like bbi, Hot Toys and Toy Solders. This, i’d say is a very good start for VH to penetrate the 1/6 market.
final verdict
VH is definitely not for amature or beigners since lots of parts
need to be reworked. after all the time and money spent on improving
it, might as well buy orifinal stuff from Hot Toys and Toy Soilder.
Lastly, it’s NOT CHEAP.

24th trip around the sun
Yes it’s my 24th birthday and it’s truly a day to
remember. Personally I’m not a fan of big birthday bashes. Small celebrations
will do. But yesterday was totally different. Though it was not my first buffet
birthday bash, but it was my first buffet bash with a clown. Yes, you got it
right, a colorful clown with oversized shoes and a permanent grin on its face.
Other than my close family members, my best pals were also
invited namely Marcus, Nigel and Weang Kean.
Anyway, back to the clown. Hi name is Banana the Clown. Ironic
isn’t it? I’ve never felt so humiliated with a balloon party hat, but since it’s
only one in a year, what the heck. Not that I’ll be parading on the streets
with it. And it’s a good thing that it’s held at Uncle’s Chili, PJ Hilton, so
the crowd is small and controllable.
Later that day, Marcus and Weang Kean took me on a shopping
spree at Amcorp Mall. Normally egoistic guys would use the term buy-some-stuff
to sound manly, tough and cool. But after a round of laugh with Banana the
Clown, who cares about being cool, macho and egoistic anyway?
My birthdays are
never complete with self bought presents so I myself a retractable baton which
serves as a defensive concealed weapon in my Neo (just incase I meet with road
bullies) and also a replica single handed katana which sheath and handle is
made from wood (or is it bamboo?) which I’ve been hunting for since late last
year.
Guess that’s all I can think of now. Pictures will be uploaded later.
