Sweet Sunday

It’s been quite some time since I’ve last spent quality time with my baby. And last Sunday was fulfilling. I could’ve posted about this earlier, but work and review got the best of me. Anyways, back to us. I’ve got a free movie pass for 2 for any United International Pictures all thanks to my brother’s HUGE spending at Kinokuniya. It didn’t take us long to spend it on "I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry" at GSC though it expires at the end of the year. A little about the movie, at the end of the show, i felt a little gay.
Later that day, i took my dearest for karting at Shah Alam. The Satria Neo Club members were there for their practice run to prep themselves for the endurance race that they’ve signed up for. As for me, it’s my second time there, where my first was with Drex, early this year. Baby did quite well for a first timer considering that she hasn’t been driving for quite a while. And surprisingly, she was fast, which took me quite a while to catch up. Speaking of catching up, it’s about time i catchup with that phone review.
so stay tuned.

Though we are suppose to blog about this phone, I still think a proper discussion is best used at time like this. Do checkout my entry.

Prologue
I’ve got to admit that I’ve done some prior “research” before hand about this new gadget that I’ve signed up for. Research here bluntly refers to googling XD
Though i’m rather surprise that mobile-review didn’t have a review on this phone yet. That’s my preferred reference when coming to a detailed review of mobile phones. Google search on the other hand, produced results to mobile news websites with loose introduction on the SGH-L760 which is described as “a YouTube phone”. I think that there’s a “mobile blogger” somewhere in the search, but the word YouTube instantly caught my attention.
Though it’s not true that there’s no existing review on the SGH-L760. I’ve manage to come across one at a forum in hardwarezone. Looks like our dear neighbors got this phone more than a month ahead of us.

Bloggers TT
I was really lucky to get shortlisted to join an ARP-Samsung organized event Ikano Power center today. Details Here
And I was awestruck meeting other fellow bloggers. Let me rephrase that, pro-bloggers. I saw the list of lucky participants the other night when Marcus gave me a call, informing me the good news. I even visited their blog. Even with all the mental preparation, I still can’t help feeling dwarf at their presence. Yes, blogging is serious business.
Here’s a picture of Lawrance, Samsung representative giving a presentation on the phone blogging capability and its nitty gritty details of setting up mobile blogging. Picture taken with the SGH-L760.
Anyhow, I’ve got a free phone to use for a month. I’ll write more about it later.
p/s: i’m probably the first Malaysian to drop the SGH-L760 on a hard wood floor >.

Ipoh: There and back again, A PJ-ian tale by Alex Wong
I took the Raya holidays to spend time with my dearest at her home town. We left on Thursday, two days earlier to escape from the Raya exodus which was indeed a wise choice. it only took 2 hours from PJ (damansara exit) to simpang pulai. the other 30 minutes of traveling was inter city traffic on the still small and narrow township lane.
Anyways,
During the 4 days, 3 night stay, I’ve met up with old friends which i’ve made during my 3 years stay in Ipoh and caught up with old times. Though I met with only two friends, it was full filling enough meet up with them again and to know that they still keep in touch with other friends who i’ve yet to meet. In fact, there’s already plans for a get together sometime end of this year.

Moving on,
It was also my first time experiencing the 9 Gods Festival prayer at the tow boh keong temple in the heart of Ipoh town. It’s celebrated with offerings of red tortoises, eating of non meat products, prayers, offering in terms of incense, donation to the temple, making wishes and well, that’s just about it i guess.
red tortoise used as offering. taste good too.
Prayers and offering of incense. Had to breath shallowly due to the thick smoke. Although there are many exhaust fans to channel out the smoke, it wasn’t enough to keep the air clear. Funny thing though, my eyes didn’t get all teary until after I’ve exited the temple.
Chinese orchestra which was held withing the temple premise. it attracted quite a crowd.
All in all, it was an enjoyable moment back in Ipoh. The Menglembu-Jelapang highway is the only road which is speed-able to scratch that speed itch. Also, it’s impossible to die of hunger in Ipoh since there are so many things to eat here like the famous bean sprout chicken, salt baked chicken, curry chicken bread, all sorts of cakes and tarts, Ipoh white coffee and also i’ve noticed quite a number of mamak stalls and shops mushrooming in Ipoh and the city outskirts.
Looking forward to the next trip, this time, for some sight seeing outside the city.
