Weekend ramblings
uh, how i loathe Saturdays. Although work ends early at 5.30, yeah, it’s early all right especially when normal working hours are till 6.30 and some time much later till 7 if there are things really urgent to complete within the day. As for saturdays, it’s slow. Dreadfully slow. Especially when most of the work are completed before lunch. Quotation request sent by e-mail, tools sent for machining, and now the waiting game starts. I can get very boring even with the internet entertaining me the whole day. Well, the forums are dreadfully slow too. Being a weekend, i guess people spend time off line, doing other meaningful things then trolling in the forums. Well, i can’t help it, that’s the only thing available for me to do now. Speaking of trolling, the motivational poster on the topic of /b/ did prove it’s hypothesis where 90% of the population don’t know what it is. It is unfortunate that SMF that was installed did not have the vote viewing feature where it allows admins to see who voted for what option. I would sure know who the other 3 /b/tards is in the club.
Speaking of the club, again. A fresh onslaught at parasites was started, again. At first I thought it was amusing. Now it’s a totally turn off. The wise plan of putting a huge bait like 20% off R3 stuff to generate membership has shot us in the foot. After all, being malaysian, who could ever resist a good bargain? Plus registration is free. Secondly is the priceless bank of information that is stored in the forum that is constantly being updated and contributed by professionals, something that the other side lacks off. Then again, access is fairly easy with a simple registration.
Personally speaking, from my own observation, the other side has opted for an “open source” method where everyone is free to contribute, even nonsense, junk and false advice. Srsly, i cracked up when reading and advice given: upgrade fuel pump and a fuel pressure regulator to answer a cry for help of a car that is running too lean after an extractor upgrade. I mean, how dumb can a person get? obviously there’s something very wrong with the O2 sensor reading which is caused by wrong placement of the O2 sensor. after all, the custom made extractor is from a non-reputable-under-a-coconut-tree-workshop. This is what separates us form them.
However we seems to corner ourselves in a very sticky situation. yes we do get new members, but it’s not the sort that we need. Microsoft gets new window users everyday, but a huge chunk of them are pirated window users, especially here in boleh land. There is one way out of this though. Making it a closed club, meaning that it’s just a small group of friends who share a common interest. Having said so, all official ties with companies and affiliates have to be severed. There will be no more endorsement, no more special 20% discounts, no more VIP services. Likewise why would a multi million car company give money to private car users, just because they drive in groups. might as well use that money for better marketing strategy like pitting the myvi and blm at SIC and enjoy the show as the myvi skid off the track. Now, that’s a commercial worth making.
Last but not least, i’ve pretty much given up debating ideas. Especially with my two retired-waiting-to-expire uncles. One was a gambling branch manager for maybank who seems to stuck onto that position till retirement who gave lousy financial advice. I still remember the time when he tried to con-vince my parents into investing into BTS when the project was first launched. Looking at that empty monolith now, sure say allot of his financial wisdom. Just the other day he complained that my housing area was too congested and it’s high time that our family move out following his friend foot steps who have shifted form BU12 to the other side, nearer to 1U. Of course, i did not tell him that he came to visit during rush hour, hence the jam. And neither did he know that there’s no bigger units at the other side compared to BU11 and BU12. Furthermore, at the residential enclave that i am right now has more exits compared to the other side, plus property value is booming since the development of Aman Suria and Dataran Prima. So, who said old people are smart and wise. It’s a good thing that we are not blood related. Amen to that.
Looking at my wall of text, i realized that i’ve lack finesses. instead of deleting this, i’ll just keep it posted to remind myself not to blog with an empty mind. and also for the lulz.

Bumping this blog
Now where do I begin?
Empty Promises
There’s three reviews scheduled to be published, two of them were scrapped, the Compaq Persario C714TU laptop which i bought on in November, the other is a leather wrapped steering wheel for my neo. Nothing much to talk about the steering wheel other then the feel of skin is always better then plastic, as for the lappie, I lack technical knowhow to write a good review. Other then churning computing figures which I probably won’t understand and pages long technical specification, it’s just another computer, only smaller. The one review left standing, and on the verge to be scrapped is the SSCUS sport semi bucket seat which I had installed in my neo late last year after the bad accident. Will it live to see day light? even I won’t know. But if it does, it’s the longest time I’ve taken to write a review.
So, what’s up 2008?
Kinda late to write about resolutions now, but it’s better late then never. My first resolution for this year is a 6 pack. Yeah, laugh at it while you can, in fact laughing is one way to firm the tummy. Guess no more teh tarik after the sun sets for me.
to kick start this resolution, i need some kind of an objective. something to aim for. a 6 pack can have various definition for different people. but most importantly, i need a score board for myself, something like a yard stick to measure progress. I got the pic above from a place where no one can ever think off. 2chan.
At the moment, i’m at picture no2, (left to right, from top). and it has been like this since the start of the year. My aim is always the highest, no 6 by the end of this year. no 4 is fine too.
On the side note, things are getting real busy everywhere, home, work, and even the club. Busy year ahead.
Track day
Alex manage to get entry tickets to SIC open track day at a rediciously low price of RM125 (normal price RM200(2008) RM150(2007). It’s cheaper then the entry price of last year. 3 hours of fun for just RM125, versus RM175 for 1.5 hours at HPC. Oh, did I mention that HPC is only 1/2 track while SIC open track day is full track?
I was ecstatic, I was overwhelmed, and I am a lousy driver. I spun out twice.
in the pits awaiting my turn
Today
Sent the C714TU for service at HP service center to claim warranty on faulty LAN port and possible RAM change. The technician (Roshan) is very knowledgeable, I hope that what he say comes true, that within 3 working days, my lappie will be ready for collection. No there are no nude pics of me inside.

Stand Up And Pee
Seems God was just about done creating the universe, had a couple of
left-over things left in his bag of creations, so he stopped by to
visit Adam and Eve in the Garden.
He told the couple that one of
the things he had to give away was the ability to stand up and pee.
‘It’s a very handy thing,’ God told the couple who he found hanging
around under an apple tree.
‘I was wondering if either one of you wanted that ability.’
Adam
popped a cork. Jumped up and begged, ‘Oh, give that to me! I’d love to
be able to do that! It seems the sort of thing a Man should do. Oh
please, oh please, oh please, let me have that ability. I’d be so
great! When I’m working in the garden or naming the animals, I could
just let it rip, I’d be so cool. Oh
please, God, let it be me who
you give that gift to, let me stand and pee, oh please………’ On and
on he went like an excited little boy (who had to pee).
Eve just
smiled and shook her head at the display. She told God that if Adam
really wanted it so badly, and it sure seemed to be the sort of thing
that would make him happy, she really wouldn’t mind if Adam were the
one given the ability to stand up and pee.
And so it was. And it was…well, good. ‘Fine,’ God said, looking back into his bag of left-over gifts.
‘What’s left here? Oh yes, multiple orgasms…’

Back online again
It’s been more then 3 days without internet connection at home. Dang, i am addicted to the internet. Anyways, the modem blew and maxis gave a replacement today. I’m not sure if it will be billed into our monthly bill. i’ll have to wait to find out.
Weird thing though, there’s some few sites which are unaccessible after the modem change. namely satria neo club forum. weird…
till then, have a prosperous chinese new year. Stay and stay safe.
