Update of the Week
WTF 1337!!!

Yes, there’s a P (probation) sticker on my leet machine. Kim Yoong got his drivers license last Thursday.
Saturday Off
There was major road construction going on at Jalan Kepong and power was required to be shut down at that area. That being done, it also affects the surrounding areas which includes our factory as well. Since we were informed of power interruptions, we closed for a day.
That leaves me ample of time to spend with my Sweetheart. We went to Digital Mall to look for a wireless router and webcam but in the end didn’t buy anything because I was having second thoughts on weather or not I really need the router.

Later that day, we had lunch at Pizza Hut. We ordered the specials some Italian themed set meal. Pizza is already an Italian dish, I don’t see why is the new Italian theme any special other then the Italian flag decorating the restaurant. Not ranting, the food is not a disappointment if you are not a fussy person.

The Pizza

AAHHHHhhhhhhhhhhh…………….

Sweetheart with her piece.
With another half a day to spend, we went to Niu Zhe Xui for some window shopping and we came across this at the center court.

Rabbits!

Zoomed.
3 bucks for that small tray of rabbit feed is expensive, but since there’s no time limitation on how long a person can stay in the pen to pet and feed the rabbit, it’s not that expensive either, After all, the main attraction is to interact with the rabbits. Plus the rabbits doesn’t have the appetite of a hamsters, so force feeding the rabbits will take some effort.

Someone’s child feeding the rabbits.
We stood there for a good 5 minutes taking many shots of people’s children feeding and chasing rabbits around the pen.
Later in the evening I washed my Neo (which was never washed for three weeks!!!) and did a secret mod to the stock intake.

Scratched myself while working on the intake. I’ve forgotten how sharp some parts of the engine bay can be.
SUNDAY!!!
Like the previous Sunday, we went to One Utama for lunch, movies, and some shopping. Since the movie was at 2.10pm, I brought Sweetheart shopping first, before joining Kim Yoong and Albert for lunch at My News Cafe.

At the cafe, Kim Yoong prepared to order lunch.
I should left the place the moment the waiter told us that all the grill items were not available because the grill in their kitchen was broken. I really wanted to try the combo grill. Instead of finding another restaurant which has a working grill, I changed my order to something else which doesn’t require grilling.

My News Cafe special fried rice. It looks better then it tasted. For a signature dish, it’s a real letdown. The prawns, although big aren’t fresh. It’s not springy when chewed but rather mash between the teeth. The fried rice though looked good, it lack taste and the sambal belacan that comes with the rice was not spicy at all because it was watered down. At least they did not mess up the egg. And the chicken wing actually tasted really good. I was expecting allot from a cafe that has a steady number of customers and at times, full.

This week we watched Street Kings staring Keanu Reeves, who played that “No, what if I fail” character from Matrix. Presentation wise, it’s really enjoyable. Surprisingly good acting from Keanu Reeves, unlike the Matrix 2 and 3. Plenty of action too, from gunfights to chasing bad guys through a sub urban housing area who in the end was caught in barbed wire, OUCH!. The same old thing recycled again from other cop movies like SWAT (except for the barbed wire part, liked that scene, really). I didn’t mind that because it has been quite some time since I last watch a cop movie. But what I really do mind is the predictable story line with a very predictable plot on vengence and striking back against his own police unit. It some how reminds me of Infernal Affairs (original Hong Kong version) where bad cop try to come out clean.
I left the cinema somewhat mellow. There’s nothing much to talk about the movie other then being fucking censored by the fucking censorship board for cutting off every fucking cuss word which caused many many inconsistency in the movie. This movie is already rated 18, so why the fuck censor them? Oddly enough, the really violent scene like getting shot full of holes with blood spraying all over the room was spared but cuss words like fuck were removed from the movie with extreme prejudice. IF the censorship board has cleverly removed them without spoiling the movie with interrupted dialog, I would’ve probably forgiven them. But No, bloody armatures are wasting tax payers money. The censorship board of Malaysia is to be blamed for the blooming piracy activity in this country. I feel more robbed from the censorship board mutilating the movie then feeling angry at the movie for robbing my RM10 and 2 hours for a mediocre show.
Next Week….

Going Bananas II
I was envious that other blogging sites has the built in option to add in custom title banners while this primitive friendster blog doesn’t. This does not means that a custom title banner cannot be added at all, just that it needs some playing around with the HTML codes which is very very easy to execute. Same goes for the other images that I’ve added onto the sidebar for featured articles and automotive blogs/forum that I frequent most (at least once a day).
So, my brother has a pot of spaghetti sauce for his custom title which goes along well with his blog title (sauce of my life), while my sister has a HUGE 4X4 Ford Ranger, (i was expecting a pikachu instead). Something tells me that she’s driving that monster as her daily ride. big upgrade from a small melon :p
It doesn’t take much thinking what i wanted for my blog title, a banana. And this is what i came up with after 5 seconds of planning.

Wonderful Weekend
I had a really good time last Sunday. Nothing spectacular or out of the ordinary happened, but it felt like a whole new experience. Like a new adventure. Probably because without the maid around the family got a little closer doing house chores together. I was given the task for cleaning up the dishes, and occasionally chip in mopping the floor. And with that extra task added on top of the regular 8.30 to 6.30, 6 times a week, weekends are very very much appreciated.
Last Sunday we celebrated mom’s birthday at Chillies for lunch, a day ahead of the actual date. Reason being it’s less hectic on a weekend, and it’s not healthy stuffing ourselves for dinner which is just a few hours before bedtime. I had the usual Old Timer. We talked and talked, though very much about nothing at all but it sure did felt great spending time together.

What I had, Old Timer
After that we went our separate ways. Parents left for home after a short stop by the hypermarket for some groceries and we kids (sweetheart, Kim Yoong, Albert and I) went to catch a movie, The Forgotten Kingdom. It sucked. But it sold surprisingly well. The whole room was filled, even the front row. Compared to the latest Jay Chow movie, Kungfu Dunk, I’d rather watch that again. Jay Chow don’t know fungfu, and his acting is bad, and the movie had a horrible storyline, I couldn’t think anything that could be worse, wait.. i think i just did, The Forgotten Kingdom. Usually I would gripe, complain and emo on how I’ve wasted RM11 and 2 hours of my life on a lousy movie. But i didn’t, because my weekend was great.
There was something new about that weekend. My first try on 2 Spicy, a light gun shoot up with an awkward name. It plays pretty much like Time Crisis series, but this time it has two paddles for directional movement (left right). Pointing the gun on the screen will make the character stand out of cover to shoot, and pointing the gun away from screen will make the character hide. Sounds pretty simple with run, hide and shoot. Unfortunately it has only one play mode which is a one on one duel, either against the computer (story mode) or against other players (versus). No Co-op or fight against endless numbers of grunts charging your way. This game brings back competitive shooters in the arcades in addition to Silent Scope. Competitive shooters is rare. I spent RM2 and 45 minutes on that game (best bang for the buck), 9 matches (6 human, 3 AI) Got beaten by the AI in the end after wasting the other 8 opponents, plus I was tired, standing, stomping on paddles and shooting. Not to mention that I wore a sweatshirt which traps heat and that place is warm for an air conditioned premise.
Later that evening, we went to cool off at Star Bucks cafe after stopping by MPH for some magazines and a Warhammer 40k novel. That piratically sums up my Sunday.
Realized that HPC was on that very morning. I didn’t want to rush myself there and then back again. Speaking of which, it’s been almost two weeks since I last drove my Neo. And It’s also been two weeks since my Neo was ever driven. There’s rust forming on the disc brakes both front and rear and it’s pretty thick coat of rust. Might be taking my Neo out for a spin this Sunday. Haven’t decided where to go.

What Blogging Has Thought Me
Banana Talk is turning three, this coming May. That is three years of blogging experience. A little more then four years if I take reading other people’s blog into account. So, what has 3 years of blogging thought me? [Warning, Rants Ahead]
1) I’m not a blogger, or a constant one, to be more accurate. There are occasional silent months. I do know that there other people who did not update their blogs for a long time and seems rather okay with it. Probably I’m taking blogging way too seriously and come up with a statistic chart like what I’ve previously cooked up.
Posting pattern May 05 - April 08
2) No one posting comments onto your blog doesn’t mean that no one reads it. I can bet you that they are eyes reading your blog no matter what type of content you have. Unless, there’s a continuous postings nonsensical ramblings which will turn off even the most nonsensical person, then might as well bury that blog. Or a blog which serves nothing more then a lyric database, or embedding youtube videos one after another.
However I do not think that rantings fit into those nonsensical category because a rant is about something although it might mean nothing to most of us. And there are people who actually take pleasure in reading rants (yeah, we are a sadistic bunch). Why do you think that till date there are still Aunt Agony like advice columns in mainstream news papers. Some may read about the advice given and then apply them into their situation. I however just like to read the problems, and could care less what kind of advice will be given. Reading about anonymous people’s rant in the papers, magazines and even forums is already pleasurable, imagine the orgasm reading about someone that you know. Like I said, we are a sadistic bunch.
3) Those who reads your blog doesn’t mean that they care. I’ve already proven this point when I lost 200 over contacts in my old P800 which died suddenly without whatsoever warning. I paged an SOS in my blog, hardly anyone responded. I surely cannot take one scenario with a sample pool of forty as gospel truth. It can’t even qualify for any kind of statistical study, let alone a scientific one. SO, how can you tell if someone has read your blog and not cared? How can you tell if that someone has read your blog in the first place?
The answer is simple, counters. weather blog counter, web traffic counter. There are records of visits from different IP. It just need a little hard work to find out who belongs to which IP.
4) I couldn’t care less for point 1-3. :p
Anywayssssssss……….
I’ve revamped this blog again. Just some minor changes to the side bar. Instead of dull unattractive text, I’ve manage to add pictures to replace the text. Especially to my self proclaimed Best Driver Installation guide for Compaq Presario Laptop (C714TU) and the Samsung SGH-L760 full review which Samsung will most probably hate me for (don’t get me started on the D880, First phone in the world with dual SIM support? yeah right!). There will be one more featured article which is the SSCUS sport seat product review. Revision 1.0 is was completed two weeks ago. It just need a few more adjustments to the pictures, and other missing information before I’ll be publishing it.
Since I know how to add pictures onto the side, I’ve also taken into account to add a “Featured Friends” list instead of the pre-generated “Friends” list which is the list of recently added friends. Have yet to work on this though. Feeling kinda lazy now :p
Nearing the bottom of the side bar is a reworked “Favorite Automotive Site” link bar. This time with banners of their site. All of which are custom made by me to fit the odd 175 X 40 pixels size.
Last on the side bar is weekly updated comics from explosm.net I love those comics which is filled with dark humor.
