Wonderful Weekend
I had a really good time last Sunday. Nothing spectacular or out of the ordinary happened, but it felt like a whole new experience. Like a new adventure. Probably because without the maid around the family got a little closer doing house chores together. I was given the task for cleaning up the dishes, and occasionally chip in mopping the floor. And with that extra task added on top of the regular 8.30 to 6.30, 6 times a week, weekends are very very much appreciated.
Last Sunday we celebrated mom’s birthday at Chillies for lunch, a day ahead of the actual date. Reason being it’s less hectic on a weekend, and it’s not healthy stuffing ourselves for dinner which is just a few hours before bedtime. I had the usual Old Timer. We talked and talked, though very much about nothing at all but it sure did felt great spending time together.

After that we went our separate ways. Parents left for home after a short stop by the hypermarket for some groceries and we kids (sweetheart, Kim Yoong, Albert and I) went to catch a movie, The Forgotten Kingdom. It sucked. But it sold surprisingly well. The whole room was filled, even the front row. Compared to the latest Jay Chow movie, Kungfu Dunk, I’d rather watch that again. Jay Chow don’t know fungfu, and his acting is bad, and the movie had a horrible storyline, I couldn’t think anything that could be worse, wait.. i think i just did, The Forgotten Kingdom. Usually I would gripe, complain and emo on how I’ve wasted RM11 and 2 hours of my life on a lousy movie. But i didn’t, because my weekend was great.
There was something new about that weekend. My first try on 2 Spicy, a light gun shoot up with an awkward name. It plays pretty much like Time Crisis series, but this time it has two paddles for directional movement (left right). Pointing the gun on the screen will make the character stand out of cover to shoot, and pointing the gun away from screen will make the character hide. Sounds pretty simple with run, hide and shoot. Unfortunately it has only one play mode which is a one on one duel, either against the computer (story mode) or against other players (versus). No Co-op or fight against endless numbers of grunts charging your way. This game brings back competitive shooters in the arcades in addition to Silent Scope. Competitive shooters is rare. I spent RM2 and 45 minutes on that game (best bang for the buck), 9 matches (6 human, 3 AI) Got beaten by the AI in the end after wasting the other 8 opponents, plus I was tired, standing, stomping on paddles and shooting. Not to mention that I wore a sweatshirt which traps heat and that place is warm for an air conditioned premise.
Later that evening, we went to cool off at Star Bucks cafe after stopping by MPH for some magazines and a Warhammer 40k novel. That piratically sums up my Sunday.
Realized that HPC was on that very morning. I didn’t want to rush myself there and then back again. Speaking of which, it’s been almost two weeks since I last drove my Neo. And It’s also been two weeks since my Neo was ever driven. There’s rust forming on the disc brakes both front and rear and it’s pretty thick coat of rust. Might be taking my Neo out for a spin this Sunday. Haven’t decided where to go.
