Vector Armada
I got a call from a 016-210 XXXX today at 1.07pm form a lady with a heavy Indonesian accent who claimed to be representing Vector Armada and would like to give me a discount card FOC. Firstly, I wasn’t born yesterday, and I’m not that gullible to fall for free gifts or scratch and win con jobs.
Back to the phone call, midway explaining the discount card, she ask for my credit card expiry date for verification, to verify what, I’m not sure. But I do have a strong feeling that they are trying to milk card holder information and secretly subscribe the discount card to them. And since she didn’t ask for my credit card number, I can only assume that she already has it. Not that difficult buying credit card applicant details.
There are others who were “conned” too.
On the duller note, things has gotten really quiet in the club. I find myself spending more time in LYN now (after 2 months self imposed exile). In fact I feel so much at home there, most probably I’ve been a member there since 2003. wow, 5 years. >.<
and i can’t think what to blog for the past week double bummer.

Batman: The Dark Knight

Watched this last saturday night at cenileisure. Even though the seat wasn’t comfortable, and I’m not a big fan of DC comics, I find this movie very very entertaining, and the late Heath Ledger acting was top notch. He has shown a really scary version of The Joker, way better then the comic book version that played by Jack Nicholson in the 1989 Batman.
Fanboys might disagree with me, but remake of comic book movies away form its original storyline inline with the current era can be a good thing. Like the way The Joker in The Dark Knight was a mysterious psychopathic criminal with a probable self mutilated face. And his obsession with knife, ripping victims mouth wide made me cringe. That is the kind of criminal that we all should be really afraid of.

My Neo Turns Three!!!
My neo turns three as of yesterday when I stuck the new road tax onto the windscreen. It’s pretty banged up, but still drives good. Body work is still strong, and suspension work have lasted three track days and several rempit sessions up ulu yam and genting.
My thoughts so far (Good):
1) Best handling car in its price range (under 50k)
2) Best handling new car in its price range (under 100k), second hand cars don’t count.
3) Best handling car… well, it just handles good. that’s it.
My thoughts so far (Bad):
1) Drive by wire campro is laggy. A week ago I test drove the renault kangoo which is just a 1.4L drive by cable automatic and the response is impressive! I have missed cable driven cars badly ![]()
2) the campro is noisy. Not the car you want to be in long, high speed cruise. Driving at 120km/h (3000rpm) is still toleratable. past that mark and you can’t have any conversation. On highways I’ll go 160km/h, so yeah, noisy engine and lack sound proofing.
3) campro lacks low end torque. expect allot of lighter cars to pull off first at traffic light drag races.
4) BLIND SPOTS! since Lamborghini blond spots are worse, i’ll forgive them

Butt Sex, Balaclavas and 15 Cars
Malaysian opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim has been arrested outside his home, his lawyer has said.
Mr Anwar was stopped by several police officers outside his home and taken to police headquarters.
His lawyer said no reason was given for the arrest, which came
shortly before Mr Anwar was due to give a statement to police over
sodomy allegations.
The former deputy prime minister denies the allegations, which he says are aimed at ending his political comeback.
Armed police
Mr Anwar has been in a tense stand-off with police since a former male aide accused him of sexual assault two weeks ago.
The 60 year-old opposition leader was due to report to police by 2pm today to be interviewed over the allegations.
But the police have decided not to wait until that deadline. Mr
Anwar was stopped outside the gates of his home by armed police wearing
balaclavas.
He was taken to police HQ in a large convoy.
His lawyer and his wife have been seen going into the building.
When he was arrested on similar charges 10 years ago, his supporters staged large demonstrations.
A BBC correspondent in Kuala Lumpur, Robin Brant, says it is almost certain that the same thing will happen again now.
BBC
KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim arrived at the city police
headquarters here at 1.15pm in a white Pajero after being arrested by
the police.
His lawyer Sankara Nair said Anwar was arrested by the police near his house and taken to the police headquarters.
His
wife Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail said Anwar called her from the
police car and asked her to go home to look after the children.
The police had on Tuesday given Anwar a 2pm deadline to answer allegations of sodomy.
Anwar
was at the Anti-Corruption Agency (ACA) headquarters in Putrajaya
earlier Wednesday. He left the ACA headquarters at 12.10pm, saying he
was satisfied with the ACA’s line of questioning.
He said the
ACA had not completed its interview, but he had to cut it short to make
his 2pm appointment with the police to answer questions over the sodomy
allegation made against him.
The former deputy prime minister said he had produced all the information required, but there just wasn’t enough time.
“If I am arrested, I guess the ACA can do their follow-up interview at the lock-up,” the de facto opposition leader joked.
Anwar
had arrived at the ACA headquarters at about 10am over the reports he
had lodged against the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) and the
Attorney-General (A-G).
He was accompanied by his lawyers and a group of PKR supporters.
In
his report lodged on July 1, Anwar had alleged that IGP Tan Sri Musa
Hassan and A-G Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail had fabricated evidence in the
“black eye” investigation in 1999.
Musa was the investigating
officer and Abdul Gani led the prosecution in the case in which Anwar
had been beaten up by the IGP then, Tan Sri Abdul Rahim Noor.
Musa and Abdul Gani were questioned by the ACA on July 11.
On
June 28, his 23-year-old former aide Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan had
lodged a police report alleging that Anwar had sodomised him.

Anwar arrested outside his house
Jul 16, 08 1:16pm
Opposition
leader Anwar Ibrahim was arrested by the police just outside his home
in Bukit Segambut, Kuala Lumpur, at 12.55pm today.
The de facto PKR leader was on his way back to his house after being questioned by the Anti-Corruption Agency (ACA).
A team of police officers were waiting, according to lawyer R Sivarasa.
Anwar
was driven away in a 4WD with tinted windows, escorted by a convoy of
15 patrol cars. They arrived at Kuala Lumpur police headquarters at
1.11pm.
Anwar was to have met the police by 2pm to be questioned over the complaint of sodomy against him by a former aide.
According to media reports today, a warrant of arrest had already been obtained, to be used in the event of a no-show.
Anwar’s wife and PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail confirmed the arrest.
She
told reporters in parliament that she had received a call from Anwar
and that he had complained of rude treatment by the arresting officers.
He also told her to return to their home first in order to calm their children and come to the police headquarters later.
Malaysiakini
KUALA LUMPUR, July 16 — Police have arrested Opposition leader Datuk
Seri Anwar Ibrahim for sodomy under Section 377 of the Penal Code,
lawyer Sivarasa Rasiah said.
He said Anwar was arrested outside
his Bukit Segambut house where he had stopped after giving a statement
at the Anti-Corruption Agency head office in Putrajaya.
The
Opposition leader was due to be questioned at 2pm at the city police
headquarters in connection with a sodomy complaint by a former aide.
He
was arrested an hour before the deadline set for him to report to the
police. The move sets the stage for the Opposition icon to be charged
with sodomy, and complicate the already murky political situation in
Malaysia.
Anwar was taken to the KL police headquarters under heavy police escort with as many as 15 vehicles in the convoy.
Several
Opposition MPs rushed to the police headquarters from Parliament and
they included Datin Seri Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, Karpal Singh. Azmin
Ali, Wee Choo Keong, and Dr Hatta Ramli.
Opposition politicians
criticised the manner of the arrest, calling it uncivilised. Yusmadi
Yusuf, MP for Balik Pulau called it “uncivilised. Anwar is not a police
threat.”
Karpal Singh called the action high-handed intimidation while Azmin said he is outraged.
Hatta
called the arrest unwarranted. “They took him from his car like a
kidnapping. This is a provocation.” DAP’s Lim Kit Siang ,who is also
there now, said, “This will erase public trust in independence of
police.”
Ying Ying’s murderers weren’t treated with force, heck her mother wasn’t even charged for murder or being an accomplice for murder. Altantuya murder suspects weren’t even roughen up and stood tall during trial. But the police need a 15 car convoy and masked men to arrest a 60 year old man for butt sex?
Even a child can see that this is politically motivated.
What’s up 2008, so far?
It’s the half way mark. 6 months past and it’s time for an evaluation.
So far so good. I still have my health, although I did fall sick on two occasions. One was a terrible food poisoning from eating stale seafood which left me feverish for a day, the other was a bad case of flu which lasted two days. sick three days out of six month, not a bad track record indeed.
next up is my resolution. Progress is really slow. If i suck in my tummy, I’m at no 3. let it out and it’s 2.5. The “get six pack in six minute” video is really torturous, I’ve only manage half of what it recommended, that’s 3 minutes of pain. And I realize that I’ve to buff up the chest area to get where I plan to go (column 6). No biggie with bench press, but since my gym membership is expiring soon and that I have no intention to renew it, it’s time to shop for a workout bench and some weights.
The neo project was scrapped even before I officially start a web log about it. I already had the baseline readings which was dyno at GT Auto early this year. And I got my first minor intake improvement mod done a few months ago, but I didn’t dyno it as I don’t see it worthwhile spending RM100 to track improvements. I’ve also left out dyno session on the difference using green (regular) form the normal V-power which I normally use before the price hike. Not to mention the intended intake filter upgrade from OEM to Pipercross, that too require another dyno session. Three dyno sessions, that RM300 for data alone. That RM300 could be put to better use like a mid-rear exhaust section upgrade (i’m keeping the CAT-CON for environmental concerns) or to upgrade my ICE a (of late I’ve notice my front components cracking). However the I still have not forgotten the SSCUS seat review, it has undergone a another revision/rewrite as I’ve upgraded from custom made single locking rail to double locking rail made by SSCUS.
An update on the friendster message virus/phishing message. 3 more new victims messaged me. If they had paid attention to my blog it could have been prevented. Well, not many people like reading blogs anyway.
