Text to Speech
I was writing about how impulsive spending have left me broke for the rest of the month until I stumbled across this from the unlikeliest place in the internet which I left saved in my browser from the previous night pre-bed time surfing (some people read books before sleep, i surf).
Anyways, text to speech is a very nifty tool to use, especially for those who prefer listening then reading. I’ve used text to speech in Unreal Tournament, yeah, i know, another unlikeliest piece of software to feature such convenient tool. Its quite funny listening it reading music lyrics, but I got to admit though, the text to speech software that’s being used in that website is good, with almost life like intonations. Unfortunately I could not get it to moan or yell.

SPARK OPTIMIZER / VOLTAGE STABILIZER / IGNITION EARTH
I stumbled upon this website earlier today while trolling in LYN. And I got to say I’m impressed with the amount of rip-off voltage stabilizers cum performance booster this guy dissects in his website. It is quite a long read with lots of pictures and electric diagram, definitely a must read for car modders who are keen to install or already installed these ‘cheaply assembled’ so called performance boosters.
Bukit Tinggi: There and Back Again, A local Tourist Tale, by Alex Wong
The first time I was here was during Sweetheart’s birthday, last month. Last Sunday I was here again with Sweetheart, Marc and WK for a sunday drive cum sight seeing. IMHO, RM16 for a full day entrance pass for 4 attractions is reasonable, but suveniors, drinks and food are over inflated. I don’t mind paying RM20 for roast chicken lunch set, but definitely not RM5 for an ice cream cone that retails for RM2. I have nothing against profit making, but 75% profit is a rip off, especially when such items are easily available down hill.
So, here’s a quick tip if you do plan to visit Berjaya Hill Resort but do not plan to burn a hole in your pocket.
- Bring your own drinking water. There are several highway rest stop with convenicence store that sells bottled drinking water at retail price (RM2 per liter). Getting water from home can save you much more. 500cc bottled water sold at the Rabbit Park is RM3.
- Bring your own snacks. If you are the type that like tidbits, then it’s advisable to bring your own supply. The convenience store there are poorly stocked, hence does not carry a large variety of goods. Just twisties, sweets, lollipop, and RM5 ice cream cone.
- If you plan to feed the koi at the Japanese Village, bring your own fish pallets. I was outraged that they sold fish pallets no more then half a fistful for RM1. Same goes for rabbit feed.
- Park at the French Village and then take the provided transport up to the Japanese Village and Botanical Garden. The free taxi service drop off directly at the door step of the Japanese Village. If you plan to drive there, the provided parking space is a distance from the Japanese Village.
- Bring sunscreen if you are spending allot of time outdoors. you are 3500 feet closer to the sun.

Friendster old blog removed
My old blog is no more and visitors will be redirected here. It’s a shame I didn’t screen cap my old blog for remembrance. Somehow, I don’t miss the red and yellow theme. Maybe just the yellow part, but definitely not the checkered red background.
The Friendster Blog 2.0 (FB2.0) group membership has swelled past the 500 mark. It was less then 60 when I first joined the group. With a bigger member base, more bugs were uncovered, especially theme related bugs. Luckily, I don’t use those affected themes. One funny thing though, embedded you-tube worked just fine 3 days after I got FB2.0. After that it doesn’t work. It’s been weeks and the problem has yet to be fixed.
Last but not least, samadpalz (a joint blog between WK, Marc and me) was revived early this month with my latest entry on a planned sunday drive at Bukit Tinggi. WK confirmed his participation, although he might be either Marc’s or my passenger. I surely don’t expect a 20 year old Volvo to tail two lightweight Protons up Bukit Tinggi. Marc is still 50/50. Will have to do this drive before Raya or else the highway leading there will be too congested.
