Rabbits Infest Lowyat.net

The image “http://img262.imageshack.us/img262/4595/rabbitvn5.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

Connection to LYN was lost approximately 4-5pm yesterday evening. The message above was posted hours after that, at about 8pm by the admins.

It appears that there was an outage by the ISP (surprisingly, it’s not TMNet)

Connection has been restored, but there are down times now and then. sigh, why is this forum so addictive?

Art Exhibit

by kah-yoong

A couple who were attending an art exhibition at the London National Gallery were staring at a portrait that had them totally confused. The painting depicted three black men, totally naked, sitting on a park bench. Two of the black men had black penises but the one sitting in the middle had a pink penis.

The curator of the gallery realized the confused couple were having trouble interpreting the painting and offered his assistance. He went on and on for nearly half an hour explaining how it depicted the sexual emasculation of African Americans in a predominantly white patriarchal society. In fact, he pointed out, some serious critics believed that the pink penis reflects the cultural and social oppression expressed by gay men in contemporary society.

After the curator left a Welshman approached the couple and said ‘would you like to know what the painting is really about.’ The couple said ‘how would you claim to know more about that painting than the curator of the gallery?’ ‘Because I’m the guy who painted it.’ he replied. ‘ In fact there is no African American representation at all. They are just three Welsh coal miners and the guy in the middle went home for lunch.

Samsung INNOV8 Invite

by kah-yoong

What a lovely Friday surprise. I log into my gmail and found this: (click to enlarge)

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Looks like I got invited for the launching of Samsung Innov8 mobile phone.
What is a Innov8?
This , This, and This.

This does brings back sweet memories of the previous mobile phone launch cum month long review,a year ago which I attended at Ikano. Meet new people, try new gadgets and most importantly, free food!

Yes, I’m VERY interested to attend this new event, since I’m in a dire need of a new phone by christmas which has sent me on a mobile phone testing spree every weekend. Though I’ve shortlisted a few Nokia and SE models, lets see if this new Samsung can help me decide.

More info about the event HERE.

I guess it’s time to ask for leave (if i get selected)

[Sunday Drive] Awana, Genting

by kah-yoong

I’ve totally forgot about this picture. Weeks ago, during the second day of Raya, I took Kim Yoong along for a Sunday drive to Awana cable car rest area for breakfast. Took me 45 minutes to get there via Ulu Yam trunk road. Could have been faster, but i got lost looking for the palce, and made two truns at the round about at the first guardhouse. Asbestos was cooking when I reached up there, and was still warm on the way down hill.

My Blood for the People

by kah-yoong

I went to donate blood today at the blood drive for the National Blood Bank, organized by the new political coalition party, Pakatan Rakyat (PR). I had a very bad experience during university days when blood drives cum propaganda tool was used by the student movement. I had no idea that it was organized by PR when I was told about the blood drive at Atria shopping center. Knowing about it at the very moment didn’t stop me from social responsibility nor did it cause any uneasiness as the PR representatives there did not interfere with the blood drive by spreading the propaganda. They left us alone, which i appreciate very much. The whole thing went on without a hitch, and fast too. What makes this blood drive so special? It was Kim Yoong’s first. Many thanks to dearest for accompanying me that day and for being our photographer.
