Blocking Spam Comments
Ever since Friendster upgraded the blog to friendster blog 2.0 (wp 2.6) there has been a never ending flood of spam comments on newly published post. old post that were migrated were not affected. Only new post that attracts spam. Moderating comments before approval for display in the blog is one method to filter spam from genuine comments, but when 2 spam a week becomes 10 spam a day, drastic measures have to be taken.
Here is two easy steps to block off spam messages entirely.
1) Goto Settings > Discussion
2) At the Comment Blacklist field, fill in common words found in spam messages. Do be warned, if you have genuine comments with those words, it will be blocked as well. So, choose the words wisely.
IP address can be included in the blacklist as well.

Should i fill the word to “Comment Moderation” too or only in “Comment Blacklist”?
I had more than 2500 spam in my blog (only in 2 topics), and i’m tired to delete all of them. And even the notifications to my email too

Hello foodee,
Those words should be filled in “Comment Blacklist” only.
Leave “Comment Moderation” blank, so it won’t confuse the spam filter.
About e-mail notification, you can disable it through the blog Settings
